What is the STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE DURING A VEHICLE PURSUIT
- In any pursuit, the officers should inform Comm Centre to REQUEST FOR BACKUP!
- Since there are more than 1 officer in the MPV, someone should be taking care of RADIO COMMUNICATION! (ID Vehicle plate number, color, any reports of it being STOLEN, perhaps? HELLO!!
- Any idiot can drive a fast car, but NOBODY, I mean NOBODY can drive in high speed with a busted tire! In a few miles the vehicle being chased WILL STOP / pursuit terminated.
- Do some homework, watch World's Scariest Police Chases. The law officers NEVER shoots at the insides of the vehicle, WHY? Coz there maybe possible HOSTAGES that may be shot and KILLED! They may even shoot innocent pedestrians. YOU ONLY SHOOT THE TIRES!
2. What justifies a CIVILIAN as being a suspect
- Were there any proven radio communication saying that the people in the car being chased were ARMED and DANGEROUS? These were just friggin' kids mind you!
- You're driving a much powerful mpv / cruiser, you have better vision on the vehicle in front, do you see potential suspects or kids scared too death / going for a joyride?
- When it eventually STOPS, you immediately arrest the so-called suspect, get their IDs processed (Police DO have a device / computer to do this on the move, this is not 1970's), read their rights. Not beat 'em up silly, or worse, KILL THEM!
3. RULES of ENGAGEMENT in USAGE of FIREARMS
- The PDRM were issued with new weapons which replaces the current 6 shot revolver, these new hand guns can be pretty accurate no matter how stupid the person shooting it is; go figure dude!
- Rules of Engagement 101; never shoot first unless you're being shot at and / or you have visual confirmation that the suspect is ARMED and is ABOUT TO USE IT.
The above statement(s) does not mean that I oppose the whole Malaysian Police force. They are supposed to protect us, but that does not mean they should strip away their own honor in upholding the law by means of committing violence!! We've got enough criminals already in this country.
